Tennis Talk

September 6, 2007

There's three kinds of people — the Sports Players, the Sports Fans, and Neither. We're the second. None of us are very athletic (well, except for my Mom, but even that has waned with age), but the TVs are tuned in to the sports networks 24/7. We've got the VIP Sports Pack as far as I know.

Baseball to support the Jays. Basketball to root for the Raptors (but if they're not playing, we have our own teams to support). Pro-Golf..well, just during the PGA finals. Hockey to jump for the Maple Leafs. Let's not forget curling, of course. I still don't get the rules, but it's quite…errr…gripping.

Right now, we're busy with the US Open. Watching tennis is close to my heart. <3 I might not be as loyal at following the games as my parents are, but if I catch it, I definitely stay on.

I was sooo tired from watching Cirque du Soleil's Koozo (which was spectacular!), but the moment I got home, I had 3 corns on cob for dinner while watching my beloved Roddick struggle (he held his own the first two sets and just gave up on the third) against the far superior Federer (who looked like he was taking it at his stride despite the close call the first two sets).

Agassi was a guest commentator! Whee! I couldn't help smiling when I saw him.

I'm giving up on Lleyton Hewitt ever amounting to anything. Looking forward to watching Novak Djokovic play since he's the only cute player left.

Venus to play Henin. Exciting! Henin beat Serena, so it seems like poetic justice…

Loving the tiny shorts leggy Venus wore and the pink dress sported by Anna Chakvetadze whom I find pretty.

Jacket Talk, plus Jacket For Sale

A few weeks after having had bought my last jacket ever, my Mom bought me this week's last jacket ever. It's not really a jacket though. It's a vest with a fur hoodie — it's black, so now I've got down vests in white and black, a white winter jacket, a pink winter jacket, two wool blend winter coats, a white extreme-cold jacket, a blue fleece vest, and a forest green fleece vest. Add to that my spring and fall jackets — a green trench coat from NafNaf, a black Burberry knock-off, and a Banana Republic trench coat. I can't forget my three rain jackets from the Philippines too. I've got denim jackets and blazers, but I don't really consider them as weather-protection.

Anyway, you guys can understand why the jacket's always the last.

My last ever jacket for this year though, I'm paying for that myself. A black wool trench! :D When I find it, I'll know it.

Oh, one more trench. I'm going to sell an Italian black leather trench coat. I've never worn it since it was too big for me. Any takers? It was originally around $300 US, but I'm thinking $180 is a good enough price since I'm just eager to make space in my cabinet.

Vera Pelle, made in Italy, European size 42. I figure it's a Medium or a Large.

Thinking about it, I think by the time Marc and I marry and my parents cease to support me, I wouldn't have to buy anymore jackets for quite a bit — provided I maintain this figure. I'm good for another three years?
